Ertico holds General Assembly

374 Ertico – ITS Europe held its annual General Assembly in Brussels yesterday and over 60 representatives from the different sectors represented by Ertico (service providers, public authorities, vehicle manufacturers, suppliers, users, research, mobile network operators, and traffic and transport industry) focused on the organisation's activities and policy positions  as well as discussing the next important milestones such as the 19th 6456 ITS World Congress organised by Ertico, in close cooperation with the Austrian host, the 1690 European Commission, 560 ITS America and 5858 ITS Asia-Pacific which will be held in Vienna in October.

A newly elected supervisory board was announced which comprises representative members from all eight sectors of the Ertico partnership. Jean Mesqui, ASFA executive director becomes the new chair with Dean Herenda (Ministry of Infrastructure & Spatial Planning, Slovenia) as vice chair.

Members of the board from service providers are Eric-Mark Huitema (62 IBM); Thomas Ivarson (86 Logica) and Klaus Schnell (183 Nokia). Suppliers board members are Marcel Visser (4308 Cinterion a 3866 Gemalto Company); Frank Försterling (260 Continental Corporation); and Masayuki Goto (Denso Sales UK). Board members representing the traffic and transport industry sector are Jean Mesqui (ASFA); Hauke Jürgensen (189 Siemens); and Cees de Wijs (4186 Xerox)

Samuel Loyson (5636 Orange Business Services) is the board member from mobile network operators, while vehicle manufacturer sector board members are Joachim Scholten (1731 BMW Group); Christian Rousseau (2453 Renault); and Malin Persson (5776 Volvo Technology Corporation)

Public authorities sector is represented by Lena Erixon (746 Swedish Transport Administration); Svend Tøfting (North Denmark Region); and Dean Herenda (Ministry of Infrastructure & Spatial Planning, Slovenia)

The users sector sees Jacob Bangsgaard (FIA) and Michael Nielsen (IRU) on the supervisory board, while representing the research sector are Francisco Sanchez (CTAG); Angelos Amditis  (5987 Institute of Communication and Computer Systems); and Phil Blythe (5986 Newcastle University)

Ex-officio members of supervisory board are Gunter Zimmermeyer (311 Bosch) as past chairman, Ivan Hodac (ACEA) as Secretary, and Hermann Meyer as CEO of Ertico.
