1763 Econolite is using the Annual Meeting for the official unveiling of the company’s two breakthrough software solutions for traffic management, fire and emergency services, as well as transit operations.

Centracs Edaptive is Econolite’s next-generation adaptive signal control, optimising cycle, offset, and splits by using high-fidelity 1/10-second resolution data. It’s built upon Econolite’s Centracs SPM and offers deep analytical capabilities, ensuring users can maximise the performance of their signal control system. It’s designed to balance sustainability and reliability with the latest in adaptive algorithms, enabling users to optimise roadway efficiencies and reduce traffic congestion 24/7.

Centracs Priority provides dynamic signal control for fire, emergency, transit, and other priority vehicles. By leveraging GPS and existing CAD AVL systems, Econolite’s Centracs ATMS can calculate vehicle ETA at signalised intersections. This enables the company’s smart traffic controllers to render tailored priority much more efficiently than legacy pre-emption or TSP systems. It replaces traditional siloed pre-emption and TSP with an integrated inter-department route-based priority system that greatly improves emergency response times, transit on-time performance, and overall operational efficiencies. Through Econolite’s queue flush feature, Centracs Priority can discharge traffic ahead of arriving priority vehicles to further reduce congestion and delays.

Both new innovative software solutions are designed to intelligently optimise mobility, enhance safety, and increase sustainability in support of smart city initiatives.

Connected Signals aims to improve mass transit in Arcadia
Connected Signals has introduced a smart signal priority system to manage mass transit in the US city of Arcadia, California. The company says its Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2I) technology will to help reduce traffic signal delays by using artificial intelligence to anticipate users’ arrivals at signalised intersections and then request priority. Connected Signals’ Transit Signal Priority (TSP) is expected to help the city’s buses get in the ‘green wave’ of traffic, either by extending a green light or b

Priority management saves time, money and lives
Emergency vehicle preemption systems can offer benefits to more than just first responders: mass transit and maintenance departments can also benefit from the technology. It is difficult to over-emphasise how critical response times are to the outcomes of medical emergencies or to reduce property loss.

City of Seattle implements SCOOT adaptive traffic management
Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) has implemented a new adaptive traffic control system at 32 intersections along Mercer Street between 3rd Ave W and I-5, which has been one of the city’s most congested corridors for over 40 years. Developed by the UK’s Transport Research Laboratory, the SCOOT (Split Cycle Offset Optimisation Technique) system coordinates the operation of the traffic signals in and around the corridor to help vehicles move more efficiently. SCOOT works in real-time to reduce delay

Econolite uses ITS world Congress to highlight travel time software
Econolite will use the ITS World Congress to highlight its Centracs Adaptive and Travel Time software modules. Centracs Adaptive is designed for transportation agencies seeking to significantly improve traffic mobility over pre-programmed signal timing plans. It actively reallocates and adapts signal timing to improve traffic flow, including unpredictable or unexpected traffic conditions. Centracs Travel Time module enables Centracs ATMS to subscribe to BlueToad travel time and speed data to provide both hi
