Recently appointed president and COO of Econolite Group: Abbas Mohaddes

Abbas Mohaddes is attending this ITS World Congress Melbourne in his new role as recently appointed president and COO of 6692 Econolite Group (EGI) with responsibility for the company’s global operations, including the continued development of strategic partnerships. He succeeds David St Amant, who will retire at the end of the year after a period of working closely together to help ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities, and will report directly to Econolite Group’s CEO Mike Doyle.

“Members of the EGI team have collaborated with Abbas for many years on industry topics, through our shared involvement in industry advisory committees. His experience and expertise in the ITS industry is unparalleled,” said Econolite CEO Mike Doyle.

“His decades of visionary leadership and dedication to driving technological advancements have helped shape what ITS is today, as well as preparing the industry for the connected vehicle and Smart City networks of the future. We are very fortunate to add Abbas to the executive management team.”

Mohaddes served as CEO of Iteris from 2007 to 2015, where he led the company’s transformation and substantial growth into a software-based information technology organisation through significant organic growth and a successful acquisition strategy.

“I’m very honoured to be part of a passionate and committed team of ITS experts,” said Mohaddes, a founding member and past chairman of ITS America, current chair of the ITSA Leadership Circle, and an ITSA Hall of Fame inductee.

“Econolite’s excellence in helping drive transportation management technologies is only matched by its track record of customer service. I’m excited to join a company that is poised for continued growth and market leadership.”
