378 Cubic ‘s NextBus fleet management application has received the Most Innovative New Product (MIP) award in the Communications and IT category  at the annual 2014 CONNECT MIP Awards, CONNECT's largest and most prestigious event, attracting more than 700 of the region's top business leaders, researchers and capital providers

In addition to the eight companies honoured for their outstanding new products, the Distinguished Contribution Award for Technology Innovation went to Dr Robert S. Sullivan who has served on Cubic’s board for ten years and is an acknowledged leader in global business education, the application of technology to learning and the commercialisation of new technologies.

The NextBus fleet management application is a modular, mobile gateway for connecting passengers and public transport operators to valuable real-time travel and operations information. For passengers, this means knowing exactly where their next bus is so they know how long their wait time is. For operators, it is a cost-effective, high-quality and reliable application to keep buses on schedule and drive efficiencies in their services

“We congratulate Dr Sullivan’s recognition by CONNECT. The award is well deserved and we are appreciative of his continued service on Cubic’s board of directors. Dr Sullivan’s expertise and leadership has been instrumental as we continuously build upon our enviable set of strengths, said Bradley H. Feldmann, president and chief executive officer of Cubic Corporation.

“It also is a great honour being recognised with the MIP award. Innovation is a core value of the Cubic culture, enabling us to deliver not only new technology but solutions that are the most responsive in the industry to customer needs. NextBus is an integral component to realising our NextCity vision– Cubic’s strategy for regional mobility to optimize the information and payment management assets and services of customers across all modes of travel.”
