The 6456 ITS World Congress 2016, taking place in Melbourne, Australia, 10-14 October, has attracted 7,000+delegates from 60 countries, as well as over 300 exhibitors, providing a showcase for the latest advances and solutions in intelligent transportation systems.
The congress themes range from the challenges and opportunities of big open data to smart cities, autonomous vehicles, safety, sustainability, future freight, policy and standards and co-operative ITS.

The Call for Contributions are still open for the ITS World Congress 2018, in Copenhagen. Through ITS, it aims to find answers to climate, air pollution, urbanization, congestion, and traffic safety through its main theme Quality of Life. The deadline for the submission of papers is 15 December 2017. Next year’s event is expected to attract over 10,000 visitors, 4,000 delegates and 400 exhibitors and will be held in the Bella Center from 12-21 September 2018. ITS Australia is to host a series of technical tours at this year’s ITS World Congress, to be held in Melbourne 10-14 October. A selection of Melbourne’s transport organisations will guide attendees through tours in Melbourne as well as Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland, New Zealand.
