Copenhagen turning parking spaces into EV recharging stations
The City of Copenhagen in Denmark has decided to support use of electric cars by earmarking up to 500 parking places, equipped with charging points, for EVs. The plan also includes reduced parking fees for the vehicles.

The City of Copenhagen in Denmark has decided to support use of electric cars by earmarking up to 500 parking places, equipped with charging points, for EVs. The plan also includes reduced parking fees for the vehicles.
Siemens has supplied and installed two triple-outlet, multi-standard rapid charging points in Cirencester and Moreton-in-Marsh for Cotswold District Council (CDC), UK, providing fast top-ups for visitors and residents with electric vehicles travelling within and through the region. A grant from the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) provided funding for the project.
WiTricity is to test an advanced wireless charging system prototype for electric vehicles (EVs) using materials and components developed by Japanese supplier Furukawa Electric.
WiTricity says Furukawa offers copper wiring and thermal components which help otpimise the cost and performance of wireless charging, thereby increasing the adoption of wireless charging by carmakers and charging infrastructure providers.
