Copenhagen turning parking spaces into EV recharging stations
The City of Copenhagen in Denmark has decided to support use of electric cars by earmarking up to 500 parking places, equipped with charging points, for EVs. The plan also includes reduced parking fees for the vehicles.

The City of Copenhagen in Denmark has decided to support use of electric cars by earmarking up to 500 parking places, equipped with charging points, for EVs. The plan also includes reduced parking fees for the vehicles.
Chinese electric vehicle maker BYD and Rotterdam City yesterday entered into an agreement to deliver BYD's all-electric e6 vehicles as part of the Netherland's green transportation project "75-EV-RO" - the first e6's anywhere in Europe. The Netherland's Prince Maurits van Oranje, Vice Mayor of Rotterdam Mrs. A. van Huffelen, Chinese Ambassador Mr. Zhang Jun and BYD's Henry Li (Auto Division GM) were all present for the signing ceremony in Rotterdam City Hall.
Electric car owners in British Columbia (BC), Canada, are to benefit from electric vehicle charging stations to be set up in twelve communities across the province the provincial government. Environment minister Terry Lake said that a total of US$1.31 million will be invested to set up the stations, which will also meet the West Coast Green Highway agreement that BC has signed with three US states, in which charging stations will be set up along the Pacific West Coast, from California to BC.
Allego has selected Siemens in a 12-month contract to support the deployment and operation of electric vehicle (EV) fast-chargers in the UK with the first project in London. Siemens’ engineers will work towards the requirements of the UK EV market and adapt through product developments to meet the needs of the petrol forecourt locations.
