Copenhagen turning parking spaces into EV recharging stations
The City of Copenhagen in Denmark has decided to support use of electric cars by earmarking up to 500 parking places, equipped with charging points, for EVs. The plan also includes reduced parking fees for the vehicles.

The City of Copenhagen in Denmark has decided to support use of electric cars by earmarking up to 500 parking places, equipped with charging points, for EVs. The plan also includes reduced parking fees for the vehicles.
New analysis from Frost & Sullivan says that the electric vehicle (EV) charging station market in North America has grown immensely, helped along by favourable government level (federal, state and municipal) incentives and subsidies for the purchase of EVs. The government is extending these plans to the installation of charging station and funding programmes such as ECOtality's EV project, which is trying to install electric vehicle charging infrastructure in six major states.
According to Markets and Markets’ latest market research report, the electric vehicle (EV) charging station market is estimated to reach US$12.61 Billion by 2022, at a CAGR of 29.8 per cent between 2016 and 2022.
Factors which are driving the electric vehicle charging stations market include government subsidies and incentives, increasing use of EVs, and the growing need to reduce carbon emissions.
