Consortium named for Pennsylvania PPP bridge project

A consortium comprising HDR, Plenary Group, Walsh Group and Granite Construction Company has been awarded the contract to replace 558 bridges as part of the Pennsylvania Rapid Bridge Replacement Project in the US. A consortium comprising 59 HDR, 7975 Plenary Group, 7974 Walsh Group and 7973 Granite Construction Company has been awarded the contract to replace 558 bridges as part of the Pennsylvania Rapid Bridge Replacement Project in the US.

As lead design engineer for the construction joint venture, HDR will be responsible for bridge and roadway design services, environmental permits, right-of-way plan development and construction phase services.

The team will begin construction in summer 2015 and complete all bridge replacements by year-end 2017. The commonwealth will retain ownership of the bridges but the team will be responsible for maintaining each bridge for 25 years.

    Key Russian PPP project
    The Northern Capital Highway (NCH) consortium has been named the preferred bidder in the tender for the central section of St Petersburg’s Western High-Speed Diameter (WHSD) project. Should NCH win the tender process it will build and then operate the entire stretch of the toll road. The consortium comprises VTB Capital and Gazprombank from Russia in partnership with Italian company Astaldi and Turkish firm Ictas Insaat.

    Imtech to provide technology for Antwerp’s new tram project
    Technology supplier Royal Imtech (Imtech) has announced an agreement with the Flemish transport authority De Lijn for improvement of Antwerp’s sustainable public infrastructure. The Livan 1 Antwerp design, build, finance and maintain (DBFM) tram project will be implemented by a consortium called NV Livan Infrastructure comprising Lijninvest as a public shareholder and Poseidon Infrastructure (Imtech, Denys and Macquarie Capital Group) as a private partner. The total investment is around US$132 million. M
