6667 Cohda Wireless has unveiled what it claims to be game changing technology to kick off this year’s World Congress alongside co-exhibitor ITS Australia. The new V2X-Radar product from Cohda Wireless was demonstrated to Australia’s deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss (left), attending with a strong Australian delegation here in Bordeaux for ITSWC 2015.

V2X-Radar adds radar functionality to connected vehicles. Cohda Wireless CEO Dr Paul Gray described the new product as ‘disruptive technology’ because it adds a new dimension to V2X developments.

“This unique and innovative solution is standards-compliant, requiring no additional hardware in a V2X-equipped vehicle and no additional on-air messages. All it needs is our software in the receiving vehicle. V2X-Radar currently works with the NXP Roadlink chipset,” Gray said.

Cohda’s new technology is being demonstrated for the first time here in Bordeaux. The company claims it will create immediate value for early adopters, enabling connected vehicles to interact with other vehicles (V2V) or with roadside infrastructure (V2I).

The next ITS World Congress will be held in Melbourne, Australia, in 2016.

Cohda Wireless will be there, joining BMW, Easymile, Gewi, Intelematics, Kapsch, Q-Free and other leading ITS developers, to demonstrate further innovations to an expected delegation of 7,000 ITS professionals.
