Eric Toffin from Citilog introduces the xCamEdge
371 Citilog, a global leader in AID (automatic incident detection), is here at Intertraffic to introduce XCamEdge, a new innovation in the company’s XCam Smart sensor series.

Initially developed and designed for intersection control applications such as presence detection with XCam-p, the XCam range quickly expanded, with the XCam-ng, to Smart detection for intersections with queue monitoring and anti-gridlock applications. Indeed, the latest success for the XCam-ng is the Smart traffic control system in Sochi for the Winter Olympics that allowed the city to cope with the massive influx of vehicle traffic during the event.

The XCamEdge will provide more processing power to the sensor and a wide dynamic range, as well as H264 encoding and HD video streaming. The device will be able to cover a wide range of applications including intersection control, traffic data collection and incident detection.

Citilog says the performance and design of the XCamEdge introduces a new paradigm for large deployments of automatic incident detection systems: ease of installation and maintenance make it an extremely cost-effective solution.

Among the top applications of the XCamEdge is the Smart solution for wrong way detection and prevention on freeway access ramps.

Matrix Vision now offers its dual-Gigabit Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet and USB 3.0 industrial cameras interfaced with the new Sony IMX174 CMOS sensor, which the company says sets standards in dynamic, speed, quantum efficiency and noise. The 1.5-inch sensor has a resolution of 1936 x 1214 pixels and reaches a frame rate of 128fps in the dual-GigE model mvBlueCOUGAR-XD using the burst mode, 52fps in the GigE family mvBlueCOUGAR-X, and 162fps in the USB 3.0 model mvBlueFOX3. Durable glass road studs
Company will use Intertraffic Amsterdam 2014 to highlight its tempered glass road studs. The company says its Siglite has the highest compressive strength in the world – over 40 tons for A class and over 60 tons for AA class. Another claim for the product is that it has the highest impact strength in the world - under tests to CNS13762, the test standard of Taiwan, a 1.04kg steel ball was dropped from a height of 1.5m without causing any cracking to the product. Siglite has also passed GB/T24725, ISO9001 an

    New CCD camera from Lumenera
The Lt365R USB 3.0 CCD camera from Lumenera runs at 53fps at full resolution or 66fps at an HDTV resolution of 1,920 x 1,088. It takes advantage of Lumenera’s memory buffer technology which ensures that frames are not lost while running the camera at the sensor’s maximum output. Lumenera states that the Lt365R runs at twice the speed of other USB 3.0 cameras on this image sensor.
