8185 Cetecom, a global technology company that provides independent consulting, testing and certification of complex technologies, will be at the ITS World Congress to show the procedure of protocol conformance testing using test equipment from Testingtech.

The testbed consists of the TT-Workbench tool with the ITS Test suite. The test system focuses on the facility-, geo-networking- and transport layer of the ETSI-ITS G5 protocol stack. The ETSI specified test cases are written and implemented in TTCN3 language.

The message exchange is triggered by the test system and information from higher protocol layer are triggered by the upper tester, which is installed on the device under test.

Once all test procedures are finished, the customer receives a detailed overview on test results.

Jenoptik’s Uwe Urban looks at the advantages of ‘sensor fusion’ for the ITS sector. When considering the ideal sensing and monitoring system to enable the ITS sector to deliver improvements in mobility and road safety, for general policing security and border protection, we have to think beyond radar-base systems or laser scanners. What is needed today are solutions for detecting and tracking vehicles while recording evidence to deacide if any action is necessary. There is no sole sensor capable of
