The Californian city of Santee, California is deploying NoTraffic’s AI mobility platform at a dozen intersections, following a successful trial at just one.

NoTraffic’s deployment is carried out with distributor JTB Supply Co, and means Santee can access the Intersection Safety Insights (ISI) and Automatic Traffic Signal Performance Measures (ATSPM) apps on top of existing infrastructure, without the need for hardware additions.

ISI offers detailed analysis of red-light-runners and other unsafe behaviours, while ATSPM allows the Santee traffic team to compare trends over time and see before-and-after simulations to assess the impact of policy changes and assessing intersection performance.

There are plans for the city, which is to the north-east of San Diego, to roll it out to more junctions.

Jeff Morgan, senior traffic engineer for the City of Santee, says ISI "has proven invaluable in understanding traffic patterns and identifying areas for improvement".

He also praised the "painless installation process and top-notch customer support" which has "allowed for the seamless digitisation of our intersections".

"With this technology, we’re not just managing traffic; we’re making our streets safer for everyone," Morgan concludes.

Tal Kreisler, CEO and co-founder of NoTraffic, adds: “By facilitating a software-enabled hardware approach, our platform equips cities with the tools to effortlessly make data-driven decisions, ensuring safer and more efficient roads."
