BYD deploys six electric buses in Padua, Italy

BYD is expanding its presence in Italy through the delivery of 12 electric buses to Padua, a city in the north east Veneto region. The vehicles are expected to be delivered to bus operator Busitalia Veneto in the third quarter of 2018. BYD currently has 25 ebuses operating in Milan, Turin and Novara.

    BYD, manufacturer of the first long-range (300+ km), all-electric bus has been selected as the sole eBus provider for the 2011 International Universiade Games which will be held in Shenzhen, China. The company will deliver over 300 eBus-12 units by this coming August.     BYD supplies electric buses to Toronto Transit Commission
    BYD Canada will deliver ten 40-foot, electric buses to support the Toronto Transit Commission’s (TTC’s) commitment to establishing a zero-emission fleet by 2040. According to BYD, TCC intends to purchase only emission-free buses from 2025. Ted Dowling, BYD Canada’s vice president, says: “These first ten buses alone will mean a carbon reduction of 700 Metric tons every year.”
