BYD delivers 12 electric buses to Jerusalem

BYD will deliver seven 12 metre electric buses to public transport operator Egged in Jerusalem, Israel. The deal serves as an extension to a deployment of 17 vehicles in Haifa, a port city in the north of Israel in 2017. The order is part of a wider initiative, supported by Israel’s Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Environment, to introduce alternative transit technologies to the country’s public transportation fleets.

5445 BYD will deliver seven 12 metre electric buses to public transport operator Egged in Jerusalem, Israel. The deal serves as an extension to a deployment of 17 vehicles in Haifa, a port city in the north of Israel in 2017.

The order is part of a wider initiative, supported by Israel’s Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Environment, to introduce alternative transit technologies to the country’s public transportation fleets.

    Windsor Mayor Eddie Francis has signed a letter of intent to purchase up to 10, BYD 40-foot electric buses for city transit services in 2012, the first city in North America to launch long-range, all-electric buses.     Swedish bus operator Nobina has ordered 20 additional electric buses from BYD, bringing its total electric fleet to 138 vehicles. Nobina says the 18m articulated electric buses are powered by cobalt-free iron-phosphate batteries which offer high levels of performance and operational safety.     BYD supplies electric buses to Toronto Transit Commission
    BYD Canada will deliver ten 40-foot, electric buses to support the Toronto Transit Commission’s (TTC’s) commitment to establishing a zero-emission fleet by 2040. According to BYD, TCC intends to purchase only emission-free buses from 2025.
