Bombardier's joint venture launches monorail project in China

CRRC Puzhen Bombardier Transportation Systems Limited (PBTS), a joint venture between Bombardier Transportation and CRRC Corporation, has won a contract to deliver its Innovia Monorail 300 platform (IM300) along with 240 cars to Wuhu City in Anhui Province, to open in 2020. CRRC Puzhen 513 Bombardier Transportation Systems Limited (PBTS), a joint venture between Bombardier Transportation and CRRC Corporation, has won a contract to deliver its Innovia Monorail 300 platform (IM300) along with 240 cars to Wuhu City in Anhui Province, to open in 2020. The deal, valued ¥1.785b (£203m), is designed with the intention of providing a reliable and green transportation system that better serves its passengers.

This project will consist of a 30.3km line with 24 stations, while a second line will comprise 12 stations across a 16.5km-long route. PBTS will handle the design and supply services as well as Line 1 installation with 28 six-car trains and Line 2 phase one installation featuring 18 four-car trains.

IM300 is also said to offer a spacious interior with an inter-car walkthrough to enable free passenger flow and enhance safety.
