The stand – to be located in the exhibition area – will provide a base for the large UK delegation at the congress and is likely to attract an international crowd of visitors.

The stand is supported by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) as well as UK Trade and Investment (UKTI). It is hoped this will help in attracting interest from the French ITS sector. Six further ITS (UK) members have each taken a share of the stand. These are Nicander, 7942 Arup, 6110 Amey, 4056 Capita, 8220 Millen Corporation and 148 Wavetronix.

ITS (UK) international director Richard Harris said: “The ITS World Congress allows us to meet our friends and colleagues from around the world, share knowhow and strengthen our links with the other ITS national associations.”

ITS (UK) plays an important role in the organisation of the European Congresses, with five seats on the Programme Committee held by staff and members. It also has strong links with both 374 Ertico-ITS Europe and the 5510 Network of National ITS Associations.

ITS (UK) secretary general Jennie Martin said: “We work hard throughout the year on the Programme Committee and in the Network to ensure that the Congress works effectively for UK attendees, and this year with the strong support from UK Government via BIS, UKTI and the Transport Systems Catapult, the UK will make a real impact.”
