The stand – to be located in the exhibition area – will provide a base for the large UK delegation at the congress and is likely to attract an international crowd of visitors.

The stand is supported by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) as well as UK Trade and Investment (UKTI). ITS (UK) international director Richard Harris said: “The ITS World Congress allows us to meet our friends and colleagues from around the world, share knowhow and strengthen our links with the other ITS national associations.”

ITS (UK) plays an important role in the organisation of the European Congresses, with five seats on the Programme Committee held by staff and members. It also has strong links with both 374 Ertico-ITS Europe and the 5510 Network of National ITS Associations.

ITS (UK) secretary general Jennie Martin said: “We work hard throughout the year on the Programme Committee and in the Network to ensure that the Congress works effectively for UK attendees, and this year with the strong support from UK Government via BIS, UKTI and the Transport Systems Catapult, the UK will make a real impact.”
