Before leaving the office for the journey home, mini applications and gadgets provide commuters and users of modern operating systems like Windows7, Mac OSX with Asfinag traffic information that is directly retrievable from their desktop. They can access images from more than 400 webcams to enable them to see, in real time, the state of the traffic.

For those on the move, the Unterwegs mobile apps (Android-based or iPhone) are location aware, and provide full access to a broad range of traffic related information for the immediate vicinity in real-time for free.
In addition to TMCplus, travellers stopping at Asfinag motorway rest areas may also use the WiFi there, free of charge, to access traffic information services at %$Linker: 2 External <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?><dictionary /> 0 0 0 oLinkExternal www.asfinag.at www.asfinag.at false http://www.asfinag.at/ false false%>.

In addition to providing easy access to traffic reports and direct access to some 400 traffic cameras, Asfinag’s “on the road” app also allows one-click direct contact with Asfinag’s service centre to enable motorists to report incidents, damage to the road or signage or other situations.

Meanwhile, for use at home, users of the latest smartTV generation can receive Asfinag traffic information not only at www.asfinag.at but also via a special TV app for Samsung SmartTV. For all other users selected camera images are broadcast by TV partners, such as Puls4 on their breakfast TV programmes.
