The Idiada engineering and technology division of the certification body Applus put all of the various technologies of this car together and fully tested it within nine months. The organisation is here in Bordeaux promoting its proving ground for testing ITS communication systems.
A consortium led by TRL has been awarded £13.4 million ($10.1 million) of the UK government's £51 million ($38 million) Connected and Autonomous Vehicle (CAV) testbed funding to create a Smart Mobility Living Lab (SMLL) in Greenwich and nearby Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford, London. The funding is part of the £100 million ($75 million) UK CAV test bed competitive fund and is the first investment by government and industry through Meridian to develop a national CAV testing infrastructure.

The first intended deployment of shared driverless vehicles (SDVs) in America has been announced at Bordeaux by EasyMile. Its EZ10 SDV vehicle is designed to transport up to 12 people the ‘last mile’ to and from transport hubs in areas where cars are either off limits or where parking is limited. EasyMile is a joint venture between vehicle manufacturer Ligier and robotics specialist Robosoft, and its EZ10 is to be tested under an exclusive agreement with Californian-based GoMentum Station.
