AECOM-led consortium chosen as general consultant for metro project

Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has appointed a consortium of four companies as the general consultant for the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Metro, the city’s first fully-underground Metro route and said to be one of the city’s most expensive transport infrastructure projects. Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has appointed a consortium of four companies as the general consultant for the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Metro, the city’s first fully-underground Metro route and said to be one of the city’s most expensive transport infrastructure projects.

The consortium, led by Hong Kong’s 3525 AECOM Asia, includes other companies such as Japan’s 5600 Padeco, US-based 4736 Louis Berger Group and France’s 6319 Egis Rail.

A team of 26 specialists will work on the US$ 3.74 billion project, according to the managing director of MMRC, Sanjay Sethi.

    A consortium led by Spain’s FCC and comprising Archirodon (Greece), Yüksel (Turkey) and Petroserv (Qatar) has announced that it has been awarded a US$700 million contract to build the Red Line, a section of Doha Metro. The contract includes building three elevated stations and a 6.97 kilometre section and the construction of a tunnel. The execution period is 31 months and the project will create more than 1,000 jobs, the consortium said. The metro is due for completion in 2019.
