9th ITS European congress and exhibition – deadline extended

Due to a significant number of requests for extension of the submission stage, Ertico-ITS Europe have extended the deadline for submission of papers and special interest session proposals to 14 January 2013. Many submissions have already been received, and this will be taken into account in the selection process. There are no changes to the associated dates for paper reviews (deadline 13 February) and authors will be given the decision on full or provisional acceptance no later than 28 February.

Due to a significant number of requests for extension of the submission stage, 374 Ertico-ITS Europe have extended the deadline for submission of papers and special interest session proposals to 14 January 2013.

Many submissions have already been received, and this will be taken into account in the selection process.

There are no changes to the associated dates for paper reviews (deadline 13 February) and authors will be given the decision on full or provisional acceptance no later than 28 February.

    ITS America and other leaders in the intelligent transportation community have united to call on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to deny a request by Public Knowledge and the New America Foundation for an emergency stay on the use of dedicated short range communications in the 5.9GHz spectrum band. The petition was made in a joint FCC filing by the Intelligent Transportation Society of America, the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers and the Association of Global Automakers.

    According to a new research report from analyst firm Berg Insight, the number of active fleet management systems deployed in commercial vehicle fleets in Europe was 3.65 million in quarter 4 2013. Growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14.2 per cent, this number is expected to reach 7.10 million by 2018.
