10th ITS European Congress app development contest

ITS Finland, host of the 10th ITS European Congress, has launched the ‘ITS in your pocket’ app development competition, providing an opportunity for companies, teams and individuals to compete for a total prize sum of €100,000 (US$136,000). Apps should provide solutions to improve transport safety, efficiency and sustainability, make transport systems more comfortable and should focus on the user needs.

7350 ITS Finland, host of the 10th ITS European Congress, has launched the ‘ITS in your pocket’ app development competition, providing an opportunity for companies, teams and individuals to compete for a total prize sum of €100,000 (US$136,000).

Apps should provide solutions to improve transport safety, efficiency and sustainability, make transport systems more comfortable and should focus on the user needs.

The competition is divided into parts: Products and services - which will be presented at the ITS European Congress 2014 in Helsinki next June; and Ideas - which can be developed into an app with the support of Demola Network, an incubator for project development present in five countries.

Applications are open from 9 January to 9 February for the products and services section and 9 January to 7 May for the ideas section.

Developers, start-ups and students who require assistance on working on a new concept can apply until 9 February.
