6478 Lufft USA’s new high quality WMO-compliant weather sensor, the WS3000, part of the company’s new WS1000 series, measures air temperature, relative humidity and air pressure.

Relative humidity is measured by means of a heated capacitive sensor element; a precision PT100 measuring element is used to measure air temperature. A resonant pressure transducer is employed for precise pressure measurement. Measurement output can be accessed by UMB-Binary, UMB-ASCII, SDI-12, MODBUS and NMEA protocols.

Having won the 2016 Intertraffic Innovation Award, Cross Zlin is back again with a host of new products including a shortlisted fibre-optic based weigh-in-motion system called OptiWim. Marketing manager Libor Sušil describes the system as weigh-in-free-flow as it measures the axle across the full lane width regardless of the position of the wheels and the sensor can also detect underinflated tyres even on twin wheel configurations. He likens the measuring method to that of a strain gauge but adds that th

    June 26, 2018
Swarco Traffic has installed 34 vehicle-activated signs (VAS) at key locations in the UK borough of Brent to support its council in reducing collisions, road danger and accidents that involve powered two-wheelers (P2Ws) such as motorcycles and mopeds. Motorcycles account for 19% of all road user deaths despite representing 1% of total road traffic, according to the National Think Road Safety Campaign. VAS are activated when an approaching vehicle is travelling over the system’s pre-set threshold.
