Highway Resource Solutions has expanded its 7364 Intellicone product range to include Intellicone Traffic Management Unit (TMU) and Intellicone Sentry.

The TMU system enables traffic management staff to detect breaches at remote barriers and relay this to Intellicone portable site alarms within a work site. When combined with Intellicone enabled 1915 Dorman cone lamps, this helps create safer working environments.

The Intellicone Sentry, a rapidly deployable ultrasonic beam sensor, detects vehicles breaching works access points and can be used to support staff manning these gates.

An override switch enables authorised staff to allow work vehicles access without triggering the alarm. The Sentry integrates with existing Intellicone equipment and new TMU.

The company’s smart mobility boss Chris Armstrong tells Adam Hill how it is working out Colorado needs traffic and transport solutions – and fast. The US state’s population has grown 50% in the last 20 years and another 50% hike is predicted in the next 20. It also spends more than $13 billion in roadway crash costs each year. In 2015, 546 people died in traffic-related crashes, and more than 3,000 were seriously injured.
