ARTBA honours commitment to work zone safety

The American Road & Transportation Builders Association’s Transportation Development Foundation (ARTBA-TDF) 14th annual “Roadway Work Zone Safety Awareness Awards” has recognised ten public and private organisations for their commitment to promoting safety. The American Road & Transportation Builders Association’s Transportation Development Foundation (ARTBA-TDF) 14th annual “Roadway Work Zone Safety Awareness Awards” has recognised ten public and private organisations for their commitment to promoting safety. The competition recognises outstanding programs, campaigns and technologies aimed at helping reduce roadway work zone accidents, injuries and fatalities. Winners were announced in three categories:

Outreach Campaigns, recognises efforts that promote roadway work zone safety through implementation of employee and/or public education campaigns on a national, state or local level. Winners in this category included 1773 Missouri Department of Transportation, 375 Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), 1904 Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), and 1747 Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT)

Training Programs, which honours state and local educational programs that promote worker safety on the job site, where winners included 6600 The Lane Construction Corporation and 6601 APAC Southeast.

In the Innovations in Technology category, which recognizes the import role that technology plays in improving safety in and around work zones with innovative products and methodologies or innovative applications to existing products and methodologies, winners included 6602 Mobile Barriers, 1928 Plastic Safety Systems, The Lane Construction Corporation and Lindsay Transportation Solutions.
