Efkon delivers enforcement for vignette to Asfing, Austria

Provider of intelligent road toll collection systems Efkon has deployed its enforcement solution to assist Asfinag’s toll officers in identifying vehicles that do not comply with Austrian road tax requirements. Provider of intelligent road toll collection systems 43 Efkon has deployed its enforcement solution to assist Asfinag’s toll officers in identifying vehicles that do not comply with Austrian road tax requirements.

The technology is said to determine whether a car has a valid digital vignette without interrupting the flow of traffic. The system uses video technology and takes high-resolution images of passing vehicles from a position on the side of the roadway. Information is then passed onto Asfinag if a vehicle does not meet requirements.

All functions are combined into a single device which is designed to switch locations frequently. It can be deployed on motorways and expressways as well as their on- and off-ramps.
