Controller interface needs less space

Radar traffic detection and monitoring specialist Wavetronics has released its Click 50 traffic cabinet device which provides up to 64 channels worth of data. The device allows SmartSensor Advance and SmartSensor Matrix to communicate directly to the traffic controller, effectively replacing up to 16 four-channel or 32 two-channel rack cards with a small box measuring 19.8 x 26.2 x 9.9cm (7.8 x 10.3 x 3.9in). Radar traffic detection and monitoring specialist 148 Wavetronix has released its Click 50 traffic cabinet device which provides up to 64 channels worth of data.

Click 650 can eliminate the need for rack cards and back plates while enabling intersection applications to use data from up to four SmartSensor units and communicate directly with the controller via SDLC.  It also provides USB, serial or T-bus connectivity and includes its own power supply, surge protection and Ethernet.

A combination of technologies is leading to major congestion and cost reductions during roadworks on the UK’s motorway network. Innovative construction programme scheduling technology and the deployment of moveable barriers has achieved substantial savings of money and time on UK motorway roadworks managed by the Highways Agency (HA). This combination has set the scene for a new generation of road usage analysis tools. The HA’s objective was to reduce the congestion caused by lane closures during roa

    February 1, 2012
As IP-based technology makes its presence felt in the control room sector, it makes for greater economies of scale and also offers a migration path for many other traffic management technologies. So says Barco's Guy Van Wijmeersch. Efficient control room collaboration and decision-making is only possible if operators and decision-makers have easy and timely access to information. In many cases, that information also needs to be accessible to multiple users at the same time. This is certainly so in the case

    December 4, 2013
Image Sensing Systems (ISS) has added two new products to its range of video detection products with the Autoscope Sn-500 and Autoscope Sn-510. Both optimised for markets outside of North America, they provide a complete and cost-effective vehicle detection solution for intersection control applications and offer fast set-up, minimal maintenance, and high performance. These processing cards help to reduce congestion, providing real time vehicle detection to keep traffic flowing through an intersection.
