Uber ends self-driving programme in Arizona

Uber has pulled out on its self-driving car operation in Arizona two months after one of its test vehicles killed a pedestrian.

According to the BBC: “Uber hopes to resume tests this summer in Pittsburgh after federal officials conclude their investigation of the accident.”

The report says Uber is conducting a safety review of its self-driving programme which will include software and training.

The ride-hailing company began testing its self-driving cars in the city in 2016 and has expanded in places such as Arizona, San Francisco, California and Toronto.
