Urban transport specialist, 7781 Tern, is to partner with 4190 Car2go, Europe’s leading car sharing service, bringing together Car2go’s Smart Fortwo coupés and Tern bikes to offer a flexible and environmentally-friendly alternative for urban mobility. The project currently operates in Milan, Florence and Rome but will expand as Car2go enters new Italian cities.

The agreement means that from now through July, Tern cycle owners can receive a free 30-minute driving bonus when they sign up for Car2go at a Car2go shop anywhere in Italy. Alternatively customers can register online with their service tag number and a promotion code. Current Car2go members will receive a 75 per cent discount on the price of a CarryOn cover bag when they buy a Tern Link Uno bike or a 30per cent discount on a BioLogic Pango folding helmet.

“A bike is an extraordinary multiplier. You can access a lot more cars because the area you can cover is ten times as large,” said Joshua Hon of Tern. “Plus, a Tern bike fits into the trunk of the Smart so well you’d think they were made for each other.”
