RSSTom Blair, an experienced software industry leader, has joined 73 Iteris and assumed the new position of senior vice president of Iteris’s recently established iPerform group. The group was established in 2011 to focus on the development and deployment of software-based performance measurement and information management solutions. It was expanded with the acquisition of Berkeley Transportation Systems in October 2011, and has since made several key management appointments.

“Tom is a seasoned software executive with a wealth of experience in building and growing software products and organizations,” said Abbas Mohaddes, president and CEO of Iteris, Inc. “His appointment reflects our commitment to introduce the most capable and effective software-based information solutions to the intelligent traffic management market. With our first product launch quickly approaching, we believe we have now assembled the critical elements of the team required to enter this fast-growing market with the delivery of our new IterisPeMS software product.”

IterisPeMS is a state-of-the-art information management solution that uses all available data resources to provide effective performance analysis and prediction. It can ‘fuse’ information from a wide spectrum of sources, including roadway sensors as well as weather and other traffic related data. The software provides this valuable information for not only freeways, but also for arterials and multi-modal forms of transportation. Its powerful information engine combines sensitivity analysis and performance measurement capabilities that continuously evaluate and quantify network performance. The product is expected to launch before the end of the current calendar quarter.

Prior to joining Iteris, Blair’s previous positions included serving as general manager for 1985 Trimble Navigation, vice president for new business development at @Road, and director of business and corporate development at iAnywhere Solutions, a Sybase company.
