Data, mapping and routing specialist 7346 PIE has been invited to Brussels to provide expert opinion on an Intelligent Transport System (ITS) Directive being conducted by the 1690 European Commission.

CEO Freddie Talberg will join an elite panel of industry experts in Brussels, Belgium on 27th May 2013 to discuss the provision of EU-wide real-time traffic information services (RTTI) to explore how the harmonised delivery of road data throughout Europe could be effectively implemented.

Discussions will explore technological developments and market trends before moving on to the practicalities involved in creating a standardised data exchange mechanism within Europe.

“Innovation and developments in traffic information services are paving the way for the seamless, EU-wide delivery of accurate public road data,” says Talberg.

“While the development of a framework would require major public-private sector co-operation, it could offer major benefits and opportunities to road users and businesses and we’re happy that the EC value our insights on the subject.”
