The programme includes a suite of new traffic monitoring equipment, including 100 RTMS detection systems from Econolite, that are leveraged to monitor and measure traffic volumes, occupancy and speed at various mid-block locations. “The new system enables traffic engineers to identify traffic incidents and congestion in real-time, and then make immediate signal timing adjustments from the traffic management center,” said CBH president Al Shapiro.
