The 2013 6456 ITS World Congress has awarded the 2013 Intelligent Transport Systems Industry Award to 7205 Transport Certification Australia (TCA) for its pioneering work in telematics and cooperative intelligent transport systems.

Congratulating TCA, 858 ITS Australia Chief Executive Officer Susan Harris said the international recognition for TCA’s contribution was well deserved. “TCA has been a creative and confident leader in a complex sector of the ITS industry,” she said.

“The award acknowledges TCA’s work in deploying practical applications through the National Telematics Framework, which is widely regarded as world’s best practice to support the use of telematics and intelligent technologies.

“TCA’s achievements have set industry benchmarks and highlight to all transport stakeholders the significant benefits delivered by intelligent transport systems. This work has enabled major productivity, safety and environmental outcomes to be achieved without major investment programs,” Harris said.
