The US 831 Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has awarded 73 Iteris a new five-year contract for training departments of transportation technical staff on sustainable transportation planning and environment programs. This new US$19 million contract expands the topics to include economic analysis and smart land use, as well as environment programs that promote safer and more efficient mobility.

Iteris has been providing training programs for the FHWA and the National Highway Institute since 2001. Under this new contract, Iteris will continue to deliver these programs until 2021.

The courses are designed for state and local departments of transportation and will focus on several of the most pressing technical matters, including freight and goods movement, multimodal and active transportation, congestion management, improved safety, higher efficiency environmental conservation, and smart growth.
