Irdeto appoints new general manager of connected transport

Irdeto has appointed Niels Haverkorn general manager for connected transport. His remit is to expand the company’s security offering for OEMs, tier 1 suppliers and fleet operators. He will also help develop future business models based on security.

Haverkorn was previously vice president of business platform services and solutions at 609 Volvo, where he managed digital strategy for Volvo Construction Equipment.

    Berg Insight: Fleet Management in Australia and New Zealand expected to grow in years to come
    The number of Fleet Management (FM) systems in active use is forecasted to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 15.7% from almost 0.7 million units in 2016 to 1.4 million by 2021. The findings come from the latest report from Berg Insight: Fleet Management in Australia and New Zealand - 2nd edition, which also estimates that the penetration rate in the total population of non-privately-owned fleet vehicles used by businesses is estimated to increase from 14.8% in 2016 to 27.8% in 2021.

    Cohda Wireless appoints sales director for Europe
    Connected autonomous vehicle technology company Cohda Wireless has appointed Jochen Steinhauer as sales director Europe. He will work in Cologne, Germany, and report to vice president of business development, Bernd Luebben. Steinhauer has 20 years of sales and management experience in the technology sector and previously worked at Internet of Things company Telit Communications. He also worked with Swiss manufacturer U-blox for five years and held senior roles with Atmel and NEC Electronics.
