Gojek to expand ride-hailing service across Singapore

Indonesian start-up Gojek is to extend its ride-hailing service across the whole of Singapore following the success of a limited service area roll-out.

The island-wide service is part of the Gojek’s continued beta phase in which users can join a waiting list to gain access to the company’s ride-hailing app.
Additionally, Gojek has introduced dynamic pricing, a strategy in which prices increase or decrease based on demand, to help reduce waiting times for commuters and drivers.
Gojek is not the only company broadening its mobility offering in Singapore. The Canadian Vehicle Manufacturers Association’s (CVMA’s) president Mark Nantais has stated that Quebec’s Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) regulations “may result in unintended consequences for consumers, automobile dealers, industry and ultimately, Quebec's economy,” in response to the new strategy introduced by the province’s government. The standard aims to increase the number of ZEVs in the region and to reduce greenhouse gas and other pollutant emissions. It will come into effect on the 11 January 2018.
Lyft has established a dedicated zone at the west exit of the Cadillac Fairview Toronto Eaton Shopping Centre to help visitors get to and from the venue.
Riders can then use Lyft’s app to choose specific pick-up and drop-off points around the shopping centre’s offices, shops and restaurants.
