Gojek to expand ride-hailing service across Singapore

Indonesian start-up Gojek is to extend its ride-hailing service across the whole of Singapore following the success of a limited service area roll-out.

The island-wide service is part of the Gojek’s continued beta phase in which users can join a waiting list to gain access to the company’s ride-hailing app.
Additionally, Gojek has introduced dynamic pricing, a strategy in which prices increase or decrease based on demand, to help reduce waiting times for commuters and drivers.
Gojek is not the only company broadening its mobility offering in Singapore. The US Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and National Parking Association have agreed to work together on updating their respective Parking Generation Manual and Shared Parking tools, last revised in 2010 and 2009. Delegates attending the combined Summit/NeTC Tolling Conference will have flexibility in attendance and choice of sessions.

The ITS Asia Pacific (AP) Forum 2020 is accepting entries on the theme of ‘ITS Innovation Creating Liveable Communities’ until 6 September.
The programme committee invites submissions for consideration as either scientific, technical or commercial papers. They are also accepting entries for special interest sessions.
Additionally, AP 2020 has opened the Future Leaders Programme to recent graduates under 30 years old, allowing them to develop skills they need for academic and professional careers.
US electric mobility company Bird has formed a global safety advisory board to implement campaigns and products to improve the safety for riders using electric scooters.
The board will also seek to improve the safety of pedestrians and cyclists who share space with riders using low-speed e-scooters.
