Gojek to expand ride-hailing service across Singapore

Indonesian start-up Gojek is to extend its ride-hailing service across the whole of Singapore following the success of a limited service area roll-out.

The island-wide service is part of the Gojek’s continued beta phase in which users can join a waiting list to gain access to the company’s ride-hailing app.
Additionally, Gojek has introduced dynamic pricing, a strategy in which prices increase or decrease based on demand, to help reduce waiting times for commuters and drivers.
Gojek is not the only company broadening its mobility offering in Singapore. Copenhagen metro operator Metroselkabet has appointed Arup as part of a joint venture with Rambøll to develop the light rail on ring 3 for greater Copenhagen. The new light rail system includes a double track alignment of 27 kilometres and 27 stations with a rolling stock fleet of 27 light rail vehicles.
This major project was planned to promote the use of public transport as well as encourage the urban development along the route and the passage across the city to avoid interchanging in the centre.

Smart bikeshare provider LimeBike has integrated electric assist bikes into its fleet with the intention of providing the public with a quick and more affordable solution than driving or using traditional ride-sharing services.
