The 5681 Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA) and North East Texas Regional Mobility Authority have selected 5938 Cofiroute USA (Cofiroute), a Vinci Highways subsidiary, to deliver toll services that will help them provide a better service for drivers. The five-year contract represents an annual volume of approximately 23 million transactions.

Under the agreement, Cofiroute will provide pay by mail processing, collections and customer services on five motorways and expressways in Austin and Tyler. It also includes the MoPac Express Lane and 71 Toll Lane that connects drivers to the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, the City of Bastrop and points beyond.

Cofiroute will carry out processing of the non tag-based transactions for additional processing, pursuit of toll and non-payment free revenues and collections. CTRMA collects the other transactions using an open road tolling system with automatic vehicle identification, in which electronic toll collection equipment identifies radio frequency transponders mounted in the vehicles. For drivers that have transponder-based accounts, data is transmitted to a statewide processing centre for posting and debiting.

In addition, Cofiroute and TollPlus will implement a complete service that includes back office development and management, data interfaces set-up, payment collection and transmission to government agencies and customer relationships management.
