2235 MultiDyne has introduced the DVI-6000 Single & Dual Link, a long-haul fibre-optic transport solution for high-quality RGB-HV and DVI-D with a DVI-I interface. Ideal for keeping video and audio communications secure in Command and Control facilities, the DVI-6000 supports up to WQXGA, 2560x1600 resolution with dual link over a single fibre, and has optional stereo audio and bi-directional data for monitor control.

The DVI-6000 transports a pixel-for-pixel image that is 100 per cent transparent with no frame dropping up to WUXGA, 1920x1200, and enables 100 per cent 24-bits for all scan rates with no contouring or bit reduction at a high scan rate.

Vital Technology has supplied a data communications network system to Egis Road & Tunnel Operation Ireland (ERTO) for the Dublin Port Tunnel which opened to traffic in 2007 and is the longest urban tunnel in Europe as well as the largest civil engineering project ever undertaken in Ireland. While core components are proving durable, communication systems became subject to early obsolescence and were causing networking problems and unscheduled closures which prompted the upgrade.

Eyevis’ new netPIX 4900 graphic controller is claimed to set performance standards for video wall operation. New input and output cards and a new switch-fabric-backplane enables input and output processing of 4K/ultra HD signals and HDMI audio transmission. The graphic controller generates a logical desktop interface from single outputs that can be used for the presentation of network data, video and graphic sources. All input signals can be moved, scaled and individually placed on the video wall. Its mult

David Crawford investigates a control centre with a future. Destined to play a central role in keeping the city and its transport running smoothly during the 2014 Commonwealth Games in July, the new Glasgow Operations Centre in Scotland’s largest urban centre formally went live earlier this year. The aim was to dry run its far-reaching integration of previously distinct core systems and familiarise the public with the initial phase of what will be a long-term post-event legacy. The centre brings together, i
