3264 PTV has launched Version 2 of its free truck parking Europe app for iOS 7 and Android, providing truck drivers with a wide range of new functions to help them find suitable truck parking spaces. These new features allow them to find, assess, add and edit information on truck parking facilities even more easily. Drivers can now also enter the occupancy status of HGV parking spaces; the app new includes more than 12,000 truck parking spaces.

The new 'Drive Mode' function shows parking spaces along the route that drivers can reach with a maximum detour of six kilometres (there and back). Drivers enter their direction of travel and the list is then updated continually during the journey, showing the distance and additional detour to the parking spaces.

Another new feature is the function 'Occupancy Status' which shows occupancy information of available parking spaces within a 1,200-metre radius.

PTV product Manager Stephan Ruppert says the company will continue to update the app with new functions and has plans to link the app to current parking reservation systems, enabling truck drivers and dispatchers to find truck parking spaces even more easily.
