PTV launches new city app

Software manufacturer PTV Group is launching its latest mobile app for the 2015 International Transport Forum in Leipzig, combining tourist information, events programmes, transport information or the latest mobility options in a a single app. The app for Leipzig is now available for download for Android and iOS in the app stores under ‘ITF 2015. Software manufacturer 3264 PTV Group is launching its latest mobile app for the 2015 998 International Transport Forum in Leipzig, combining tourist information, events programmes, transport information or the latest mobility options in a a single app.

The app for Leipzig is now available for download for Android and iOS in the app stores under ‘ITF 2015. The highlights are real-time traffic information and multimodal navigation for cars, public transport, bikes and pedestrians.

The city of Leipzig and the PTV Group have worked on the project together as organisers of the International Transport Forum (ITF). ITF, an 7353 OECD organisation, prepared the programme of events, the city provided the sights and the tourist information, while PTV prepared the mobility portal and finalised the complete app.

PTV has already developed an app for the city of Karlsruhe, which also includes real-time transport information, up-to-date traffic information service, roadworks, parking spaces and park-and-ride options, along with the corresponding public transport timetables.

For both Leipzig Karlsruhe, PTV has successfully integrated the latest traffic information from data providers, 163 Inrix and says other sources can also be connected.
