Traffic and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) supplier 8062 Intuicom has been awarded the traffic signal communication system upgrade by the City of Pueblo, Colorado.

The award, made in conjunction with Intuicom’s technology partner, 6692 Econolite Group, followed extensive testing by the City’s Traffic Maintenance Division to validate system compatibility and the high-capacity throughput required of the radios to support Pueblo’s new array of Centracs traffic signal central operating system.

The project entails upgrading all of Pueblo’s 900MHz serial radios to unified Intuicom 900MHz Ethernet radio network. The use of Intuicom wireless solutions enabled the City of Pueblo to reuse all the current radio cable and antennas, so their existing investment in infrastructure was protected, saving the City both time and money.

“Simplicity and reliability have been two benchmarks we have built Intuicom’s reputation on,” states Tom Foley, president and CEO of Intuicom, Inc. “With sophisticated ITS deployments nationwide, it is always nice to see that our wireless solutions are embraced in our own backyard.”
