TRL upgrades Transyt 15 software

TRL has upgraded its Transyt software used in designing, modelling and optimising road layouts from individual isolated junctions to large and complex networks. 491 TRL has upgraded its Transyt software used in designing, modelling and optimising road layouts from individual isolated junctions to large and complex networks.

Version 15.0.1 can now lock a stage on one controller to a stage on another, which is useful for modelling linked controller streams. To cater for circulating traffic streams, the upgraded software now also has roundabout priority object.

This new version can link to both Aimsun 7 and Aimsun 8 in both both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. This enables the import and control of any combination of fixed time controllers, irrespective of the cycle time they are running allowing Transyt to cater for multiple cycle times.

If there is one word that epitomises the current trend in enforcement technology then that word is consolidation: multi-function cameras, miniaturisation and combining radar and visual detection methods. One example is Turkish company Ekin Technology’s recently introduced Micro Plate is claimed to be the smallest licence plate recognition device. In addition to logging licence plate data, the system records speed, date, ti

Following encouraging results from an initial small-scale trial of an emergency vehicle priority system in Queensland, Australia, the scheme is now being extended. In an emergency every second counts. Nowhere is this more graphically illustrated than by the survivability statistics for the time to cardiopulmonary resuscitation of pre-hospital cardiac arrest: at four minutes the survival rate is 22% but by 14 minutes the survival has dropped to 5% - as can be seen from the graph below. There is a similar tre

Guidance on the likely impact of multipath communications on connected vehicle development has been published by ITS America. ITS America’s Connected Vehicle Technical Insight looks at the challenges and opportunities wireless interoperability could provide in vehicle applications. In particular the 22-page document examines the processes by which data can be transferred from one vehicle to another (V2V), or between a vehicle and the infrastructure (V2I).
