Version 2009 offers what PTV claims is an extremely significant innovation, the emissions calculator, which allows dispatchers to calculate emissions, such as CO2, based on routes. The software uses official data provided by the German Environment Agency for the calculation process. PTV says map&guide professional is the first standard software designed to provide high-quality emissions data on the basis of routes, providing an important step to get prepared for the challenges of future climate protection.

    Opel/Vauxhall, one of Europe’s largest automakers, and leading car rental company Europcar, have announced an agreement to introduce the Opel/Vauxhall Ampera as a rental car throughout Europe. The intention is to deploy the first vehicles in Europcar rental outlets in Germany in November of this year, followed soon afterwards by Belgium and the Netherlands. The Opel/Vauxhall Ampera will then be rolled out throughout France, Italy, Portugal, Spain and the UK from the beginning of 2012.
