Swiss-headquartered 657 Kistler is using ITS World Congress to present the company’s proven weigh-in-motion Lineas sensors, available in three sensor lengths: 15m, 1.75m and 2m, and two connecting cable length options – 40m and 100m.

In 2016, the Hungarian government adopted Kistler’s system, buying 1518 sensors to detect and identify overloaded vehicles in real time, says Joe Ong, general manager of Kistler Southeast Asia.

“We are able to provide proven WIM technology based on OIML R-134 certified system, as well as locally available technical support,” says Ong.

Supported by OIML certification, Kistler’s WIM systems are based on maintenance-free Lineas quartz WIM sensors and the Kistler WIM Data Logger.

Ong says the trend in the South East Asia’s largest ports is to upgrade entry and exit point weight check gates using targeted highly accurate no-stop WIM systems.

    Kistler WIM innovation wins accreditation
A major weigh-in-motion (WIM) innovation being featured here at the ITS World Congress by Kistler has already won accreditation from the International Organisation of Metrology (OIML). To address the ever increasing problem of road surface damage caused by heavy transport, WIM systems employing Kistler quartz sensors have been delivering valuable traffic data for many years. There is also a long tradition in using WIM for preselection of overloaded vehicles.

Kistler Lineas strip sensors receive OIML certification
Kistler has announced that its Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) system consisting of Lineas quartz WIM sensors and the Kistler WIM Data Logger has been OIML R-134 certified. Kistler said its WIM system precisely measure axle loads and vehicle weights from low to high speed. It is now, with the OIML certificate (International Organisation of Legal Meteorology) also certified for legal applications from low to medium speed (3-65 kph) with accuracy class 5 and class 10. This enables the automatic collection of weig

    WIM system now OIML certified
Kistler’s weigh in motion (WIM) system, comprising Lineas quartz WIM sensors and the Kistler WIM data logger, has been awarded OIML R-134 certification for low to medium speed vehicle weighing from 3 to 65 km/h. As OIML R-134 is the international metrology standard for legal weighing applications, Kistler says the certificate paves the way for the use of its WIM systems in applications such as weight-based toll collection and automatic weight enforcement. The system also enables road concessionaries a
