69 International Road Dynamics’ (IRD) durable IRD SAW III portable wheel load weigher is now available for dynamic weighing; its user-friendly software enables users to efficiently pre-select overloaded trucks.

Two IRD SAW scales are paired and connected to a PC via Bluetooth. When a vehicle drives over the scales at slow speed, the weighing result, wheel/axle weights and gross vehicle weight, is displayed on the screen. For weight enforcement with the highest accuracy the system can be switched to static operation mode. Computer-0based processing provides reporting, ticket printing and ticket archiving.

The system enables high vehicle throughput, especially when using two sets of IRD SAW scales, one set in dynamic mode for pre-selection and one in static mode for weight enforcement.

The low profile unit is designed to meet OIML R134 and it lightweight, rugged and corrosion resistant and suitable for twin tyre weighing.

Intercomp has launched a low-speed Weigh in Motion (LS-WiM) system which it says allows fleet managers to collect the weight of vehicles without hampering traffic flow. The system is suitable for high-volume entry and exit gates and, unlike full-length truck scales, does not require incoming and outgoing traffic to stop every time a vehicle needs to be weighed, the company adds. According to Intercomp, the system’s small footprint allows it to be installed at most facilities at approximately half the co
