A new partnership aims to cloud-based solutions for connected vehicles.

Compredict, which specialises in AI-enabled software solutions for predictive maintenance, vehicle health and usage monitoring, is partnering with Palantir Technologies.

Palantir’s Foundry software will provide virtual sensors and other services to help organisations integrate disparate data sources.

Compredict's data-driven virtual sensors are designed to replace hardware sensors across automotive applications.

"These virtual sensors form the foundations of the software-based vehicles of the future," the company says in a statement.

"They help to minimise CO2 in various application areas, add new measurement capabilities to existing and new vehicles, provide health and usage monitoring, and even pave the way for predictive maintenance management."

The firms say this leads to "more sustainable delivery of data-driven services for mobility".

“The Palantir and Compredict partnership is of great value for our automotive partners and offers our catalogue of virtual sensors to help OEMs reduce their hardware bill and enable more capabilities to monetise on data right from the start by delivering our technology on Palantir’s platform,” said Dr. Stéphane Foulard, CEO and co-founder of Compredict.

“The range of use cases for Foundry across Compredict emphasises the breadth of practical applications for our software in the automotive sector,” said Palantir’s global head of automotive and mobility, Liam Mawe.
