7918 Vision Components’ Carrida software engine is a powerful OEM Library, which is easy to integrate into existing security and surveillance applications, including access control, toll control and traffic analysis. The high-performance, hardware-independent software tool assures reliable high speed recognition of vehicle number plates.

With a typical processing time of 30ms and a recognition accuracy of more than 96%, the ALPR/ ANPR library precisely and reliably identifies number plates, even if dirty, damaged or skewed. The software can be used throughout the world and recognises international number plates with more than 90% accuracy, even in changing lighting conditions.

Two-line vehicle plates are also recognised without any problem. Carrida is suitable for use with Windows- or Linux-based embedded systems and reads all common still image and video formats. An API enables integration into applications via the programming languages C/C++, .NET, Borland Delphi, Python, or C#.

Sensefields’ traffic monitoring system uses easily installed wireless sensors to determine vehicle speed and, in urban situations, also for categorisation. Information from the sensor is sent in real time to the data processing station to determine the capacity (vehicles per hour) in each lane, average speed, speed distribution, average vehicle length, length distribution, density, average headway between vehicles and occupancy (%).
